Westmar University hosted the first branch of Melton Foundation's undergraduate program in the U.S. It is founder Bill Melton's alma mater. Westmar was located in the northwestern Iowa community of Le Mars. It closed its doors in 1997 because of financial pressure. The campus is still recognizable, hosting satellite offices of a two-year college and four-year university, the YMCA, a conference center (in the old commons/cafeteria), and offices for non-profit organizations. Some buildings have been torn down while others remain empty.

Here is a comment about it before its closing: http://www.sos.state.ia.us/publications/archive/register/r9/r9westmr.htm
